Inline Plastics Announces Increased Manufacturing Capabilities
January 1, 2018
Inline Plastics Corp. announces the addition of three new thermoforming lines, plus the expansion of its facilities, in response to the continued growth of their innovative food packaging products. Installation of new large platform, roll fed thermoforming machines and their attendant support equipment is underway at all three of Inline Plastics’ manufacturing facilities. The installation of the first new production line was completed in June at the company’s Shelton, Conn., facility. The Salt Lake City plant is installing its new production line in October, and the McDonough, Ga. plant will be installing a new line in January of 2014. In addition to the new production lines, Inline has added 42,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space to the Georgia facility and 150,000 square feet to the Shelton, Ct., headquarters to be used for of manufacturing, warehousing and offices. A significant investment was also made in production tooling to run in the three new machines. Sixty new jobs are being created to support the company’s increased production capacity. The newly acquired production capacity will enable Inline to continue to fulfill the demand for and expand their popular Safe-T-Fresh product line, as well as introduce new grab-and-go foodservice containers. Existing and future supermarket, foodservice, distributor and processor customers will realize several key benefits from the expansion:
Consistent lead times: Appropriate local product inventory will enable customers to carry lower levels of inventory, resulting in increased inventory turns.
Increased flexibility on special orders or service situations: Production and inventory planning is optimized to reflect the specific product needs of each region.
Local production capacity/capabilities: Enables Inline to run all of its most popular items at each manufacturing facility.
