Featured in the ad was a broad variety of brand-name slicing meats and cheeses. A "combo sale" offered a half-pound of slicing pepperoni and a half-pound of slicing provolone for a total of $4.79. Turkey breast was $4.99, and liverwurst, $3.99, a pound. Salami was $4.99; chicken roll, $3.59; and bologna, $2.99.

A source at King Kullen's corporate office said the "Did you know?" messages are being used in the chain's bakery, meat and seafood ads as well as in its deli ads.
