films.
The films, which Kodak describes as the finest family of consumer films it has ever manufactured, employ new Kodak emulsions, chemical and coating technologies on a new thinner, stronger film base. They will be available April 22 in 100-, 200- and 400-speeds in cassettes of 15, 25 and 40 exposures. Price points will range from $4.50 to $8.60.
Fuji has launched three new Fujicolor Smartfilm color print films. Described as bringing together the most advanced emulsion technologies, the Smartfilm incorporates a new Super Uniform Fine Grain that reduces grain size to one-third to one-half that of conventional films. According to Fuji, the minimizing-grain design combined with Fujifilm's thin-emulsion technologies enable the Smartfilm to capture sharper images. At the same time, Fuji's Two-Stage Timing DIR processing system helps increase what is known as the "edge effect," which brings out texture and details in each image.
