MAKE GIANT’S OWN BRANDS YOUR BRANDS!

Landover, MD – As consumers continue to add more private label items to their grocery carts, Giant is challenging customers who haven’t yet tried their Own Brands to put them to the test in the Buy Theirs, Get Ours Free Challenge. During the weeks of March 16 and March 23, when you purchase selected national brand products, you will receive Giant’s Own Brands equivalent products for free!   “Giant is committed to offering our customers the highest possible quality products and actively promotes safe and responsible sourcing,” said Dean Wilkinson, vice president of sales and merchandising at Giant Food. “We are confident that our Own Brand products match or surpass the taste and quality of national brands, and we are pleased to offer shoppers the opportunity to compare them to the national products they already buy at no additional cost to our customers.”   Among the everyday products included in this promotion are hot dogs, cola, bath tissue, allergy medication, paper towels, granola bars, soup and ice cream. A complete listing of eligible sale items can be found in stores and in the weekly circular available at http://giantfood.shoplocal.com. In-store signage will also highlight the challenge-related items. For customers who may want to try before they buy, all Giant Food stores will sample select products in-store on March 15th and 22nd.   All Giant Food Own Brand products are subject to a rigorous testing program, which includes customer feedback to ensure that the grocer is consistently delivering on quality and value. Based on this testing, hundreds of Own Brands products have been reformulated in the past few years to improve upon taste and quality, while still offering affordable prices.
