Tambrands Touts Satin Touch

ambrands here said last week it will introduce its Tampax Satin Touch tampons in the United States.

Tampax Satin Touch tampons were first introduced in Canada in 1993, and will be shipped to the U.S. trade beginning in October.

The tampon line features a new patented applicator that "combines the comfort attributes of plastic with the environmental advantages of the traditional Tampax tampon," said the company. It will be available in regular, super and super plus absorbencies, in 20-count packages. Trial-size four-count packages also will be widely distributed during the product's introduction.

FMI Sees Strong Nonfood Sales

WASHINGTON -- The Food Marketing Institute here reported sales are "very strong" for its upcoming 1994 General Merchandise/Health and Beauty Care conference.

FMI reported that nearly 98% of its floor space for the GM/HBC Conference and Educational Exposition has been sold. The conference will be held Sept. 25-27 at the St. Louis Convention Center. Between 250 and 275 exhibitors are expected, FMI said.

The show will include educational workshops that relate to product categories represented on the exhibit floor, FMI reported.

Alpha Hydroxy Items From Nivea

NORWALK, Conn. -- Two mild alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) moisturizers have been launched by Nivea, a division of Beiersdorf here.

Called Nivea Visage Inner Beauty Daytime Renewal Treatment and Nighttime Renewal Creme, the products each contain a low-level combination of two different AHAs. The former will be packaged in a 1-ounce bottle of gel-creme. The latter will be available in a 1.7-ounce jar.

The products' suggested retail price is about $13.

Print ads will break in September in Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar, Redbook and other women's magazines.

Love's Sets Frenzy for Teen Girls

NORTHVALE, N.J. -- Love's, a division of MEM Co. here, has introduced a new scent for teenage girls called Frenzy.

The product is available in a 1.5-ounce body mist, retailing at $9.50; a 2.3-ounce body mist, priced at $12, and a 4-ounce all-over body spray, at $4.95.

New Brut Line Joins Faberge

NEW YORK -- A new men's fragrance line called Brut Actif Blue has joined the lineup of fragrances from Faberge, a division of Chesebrough-Pond's USA here.

The new line includes a spray cologne, splash-on lotion, after-shave lotion and a glacial after-shave gel. The spray cologne has a suggested retail of $7, while the other three products will retail for $6 each. The Brut Actif Blue line also includes two deodorants and two anti-perspirant sticks which have suggested retail prices of $2.20 each.

The product will hit stores in August, trade advertising will break in September and television spots will begin airing in October, the company said.

Adobe Swabs in Family Pack

MENTOR, Ohio -- Sentinel Consumer Products here has expanded its Adobe Collection 100% cotton swabs with a 500-count banded blister package called the Family Pack.

The Family Pack has a suggested retail of $2.99.

A distinguishing characteristic of the Adobe Collection is its Southwestern-style packaging in four colors.

Lubriderm Launches Four

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. -- Warner Wellcome Consumer Health Products here said it is expanding its Lubriderm line with the introduction of hand and body moisturizers "for people with exceptionally dry and sensitive skin."

The company has four new products: Seriously Sensitive Lotion, Moisture Recovery GelCreme, Moisture Recovery Alpha Hydroxy Lotion and Alpha Hydroxy Creme. The products range in suggested price from $3.99 to $9.69.
