NEW YORK -- Nickelodeon Television here and Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., have teamed for a fourth-quarter promotion that gives away samples of Nickelodeon Smud, a modeling compound made by Mattel, with the purchase of two Jell-O pudding or gelatin ready-to-eat six-packs. Over 15 million of the specially marked Jell-O packages are now in stores.

> Modeling compounds have done really well as premium offers in some of the other promotions Nickelodeon has done over the years, according to Terry Holmstrom, director of marketing and promotion at Nickelodeon. She noted that Kraft was able to incorporate footage from a Mattel Smud commercial in the tag of the Jell-O commercial.
