Peapod Expands Delivery in N.J.

Peapod, the online grocery delivery service owned by Ahold USA, has expanded its service area in New Jersey to include the towns of Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken and Long Beach Island, the company said Friday.

SKOKIE, Ill. — Peapod, the online grocery delivery service owned by Ahold USA, has expanded its service area in New Jersey to include the towns of Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken and Long Beach Island, the company said Friday.

Peapod service is available in New Jersey through Ahold’s Stop & Shop chain. The website offers to waive the $6.95 delivery fee for the first 60 days for new customers on orders of $100 or more.

Stop & Shop's largest rival in the state, ShopRite, also offers online ordering and delivery in Bayonne, Jersey City and Hoboken, but not Long Beach Island, according to its website.
