Produce Marketing Association (PMA) is now seeking members from across the global fresh produce supply chain for a variety of volunteer opportunities that will play an active role in guiding the association and the future of the produce industry. The benefits of volunteering include providing industry expertise, forging new business relationships, increasing personal visibility and creating solutions that directly affect the produce industry. “Our volunteer work has enabled Concord Foods to significantly raise its profile in the industry and make key contacts that would otherwise have been unavailable to us. We can track the benefits right down to our bottom line,” said Charles Olins, vice president of sales and marketing for Concord Foods, Inc. Interested industry members can submit volunteer applications through PMA’s virtual volunteer center. Please review all the opportunities available to consider which ones best suit your expertise and interest. Though applications will be reviewed beginning April 20, applications will be accepted throughout the year. All applications will be reviewed by PMA’s Leadership Committee whose role is to select those individuals whose experience and expertise best fulfill the requirements needed to serve. “I have the privilege of working with PMA’s community of volunteer leaders – these dedicated men and women have defined Produce Marketing Association’s success for over 60 years,” said Julie Koch, PMA’s vice president of member relations. “These leaders not only contribute to our industry’s progress, but through their donation of time and energy they also serve as mentors, setting an example for all of us about what leadership means.”
