BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Taste the Tropics Ice Cream Co. here has introduced a line of tropical-flavored ice cream to the supermarket freezer case.

, which has operated an ice cream parlor here for 16 years, is available in the following flavors: mango, rum raisin, orange pineapple, sour sop/guanabana, strawberry banana, rummy nut, coconut, cherry vanilla, cookies and cream, strawberry cheesecake, Irie Irish moss (cinnamon-ground nutmeg flavor), vanilla and greatnut (nut-like flavor).

"We have been labeled as an ethnic product, but we're really mainstream. We offer standard flavors, but we also have mango if a consumer wants to try something a little different. There are 160 different kinds of mangoes, and we use the best mango in the world in our ice cream to give it that extra flavor," Albert Zirino, Taste the Tropics president, told SN.
