CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. -- Waldbaum's here, a division of Montvale, N.J.-based A&P, this year is touting its prepared turkey dinner in a bigger way than ever before.

by a color photo of a cooked turkey on a serving platter and a plate with sliced turkey and vegetables.

"This is the first time we've given it so much space. We just had a couple of lines last year," said Alan Utstein, director of deli for Waldbaum's.

The photo was under a headline that said, "Now! Lower Prices." Below the photo, the ad said, "Let Waldbaum's cater your Thanksgiving feast! Deluxe turkey dinners, $29.95."

"It's important to catch people's attention early so they'll have enough time to decide they don't want to cook Thanksgiving dinner. They'll know they have this option," Utstein said.

The ad will run every week until Thanksgiving, he said. The dinner includes a 10- to 12-pound, fully cooked turkey, two pounds each of mashed sweet potatoes, mashed white potatoes, turkey gravy, green beans, cranberry relish and stuffing.
