Big Y is upping its pharmacy game with the launch of a new mobile app that features a variety of tools to help “simplify patients’ healthcare experience,” the company announced on Thursday.

The Pharmacy Mobile App was released in June and enables customers to scan the barcode on prescription bottles and order refills; transfer prescriptions; add family members to manage the entire family’s prescription needs; find nearby Big Y pharmacies; set reminders to take medications; set refill reminders; and access to tax documents.

The service is also available to shoppers online for those unable to access the mobile app, the company said.

“While the goal of the new app is to enhance customer experience, our pharmacists and pharmacy teams are always here to help you both in-person or over the phone,” Kathy Premo, Big Y pharmacy services manager, said in the press release.
