GMDC Plans Major Wellness Education Program

The Global Market Development Center, better known as GMDC, is planning a full afternoon of wellness awareness education during its Health, Beauty, Wellness Marketing Conference, scheduled for Sept. 7-10 in Palm Desert, Calif.

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Global Market Development Center here, better known as GMDC, is planning a full afternoon of wellness awareness education during its Health, Beauty, Wellness Marketing Conference, scheduled for Sept. 7-10 in Palm Desert, Calif. Both the association, formerly General Merchandise Distributors Council, and the conference, formerly Health and Beauty Care Marketing Conference, have been renamed this year. Among the speakers at the wellness session will be Maryellen Molyneaux, president of the Natural Marketing Institute; Ed Kuehnle, president of Catalina Marketing Services-North America; Todd Hale, senior vice president of Consumer and Shopper Insights, Nielsen Homescan & Spectra; and Phil Lempert, an author known as “The Supermarket Guru.” The event will also include a consumer panel and wholesaler/retailer executive panels. GMDC suggested that questions for the panelists be sent in advance to [email protected]. The session will be held from 12:45 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, following a luncheon business session featuring presentations by GMDC board chairman Ken Nemeth of Valu Merchandisers Co. and GMDC president David McConnell. It will be open to all attendees.
