Annie's Unveils Certified Organic Soups
January 1, 2018
Annie's, Inc. has debuted a line of Certified Organic Soups, including Star Pasta & Chicken, Tomato, Creamy Tomato & Bunny Pasta, Bunny Pasta & Chicken Broth and Creamy Carrot & Bunny Pasta. The launch of Annie's Certified Organic Soups represents the first large scale product collaboration with General Mills, which acquired Annie's last year. The company had interest in the soup category for years but by leveraging General Mills expertise in development and distribution, the product came to life in just nine short months, say company officials. Made with Annie's simple and clean ingredient promise, the line is the first of many more in the queue to launch in 2015 and beyond. "Annie's Organic Soup is a huge testament to how Annie's and General Mills are better together," says president John Foraker. "By combining Annie's commitment to organic, great-tasting products, and General Mills' capabilities and distribution, we are able to make a bigger impact on the organic industry and consumers." The Certified Organic Soups are made with high-quality ingredients. Both tomato varieties offer a half cup of vegetables per serving, while the chicken-based soups use only organic chicken and broth with no antibiotics added. Annie's Creamy Carrot & Bunny Pasta also offers more than 100 percent daily value of vitamin A. Like all of the company's products, each variety is made without artificial flavors, synthetic colors, preservatives or high fructose corn syrup. The soups have a suggested retail price of $3.49–$3.99. Annie's, Inc. is a natural and organic food brand offering great-tasting products in large packaged food categories. The products are made without artificial flavors, synthetic colors and preservatives common in many conventional packaged foods. Additionally, the company sources ingredients so as to avoid synthetic growth hormones and genetically modified food ingredients. Annie's offers over 145 products and is present in over 70,000 retail locations in the United States and Canada.
