Boulder Organic! Announces Tuscan White Bean Soup to Join Its Line
January 1, 2018
Boulder Organic! has added a soup to its growing line of certified organic, gluten-free and non-GMO verified soups: Tuscan White Bean. Hundreds of homemade soups feature white beans as a key ingredient, and the soup makers at Boulder Organic! have taken this healthy staple and made it into a soup of their own. This hearty soup is satisfyingly loaded with nutrient dense white beans, fresh vegetables like tomatoes, carrots and celery, and Italian spices reminiscent of hearty farmhouse cooking, company officials say. It also includes organic chicken broth and a dash of organic cream to add an element of richness. Boulder Organic!’s Tuscan White Bean Soup continues to expand and round out the offerings of this leading maker of organic refrigerated soups. Refrigerated and prepared foods are expected to continue the trend to becoming a leader in the future of grocery. According to industry news posted in late 2014, consumers are looking for foods that are fresh and organic, with easy to read ingredient panels featuring clean and simple whole foods with fewer preservatives. At the same time, the convenience category continues to boom, resulting in a migration from center store to the refrigerated section. “As we continue to expand the line, we look to varieties that have a tried and true consumer following, and put our healthy spin on it so that it translates to satisfy consumer cravings,” says founder Kate Brown. “Tuscan White Bean is a natural extension especially now as we’re in mid winter – it’s intensely satisfying for a light lunch or paired with a salad and crusty bread for a quick dinner.” Boulder Organic! recently underwent a brand change (formerly Boulder Soup Works), and is maintaining its focus on all certified organic, non-GMO verified, and certified gluten-free products, officials add. Tuscan White Bean joins two chicken broth-based and five vegetarian varieties: Roasted Tomato Basil Soup and Green Chile Corn Chowder (both include organic chicken broth); Red Lentil Dahl Soup, Garden Minestrone Soup, Golden Quinoa and Kale Soup, Potato Leek Soup, Butternut Squash Soup with Sage (all vegetarian). “We’re continuing to focus on fresh and nutritious food with the added value of being organic, non-GMO and gluten-free, all at a reasonable price,” says Greg Powers, CEO of Boulder Organic!. “We believe that healthier food needs to be made more available to really improve our overall food system. At retail, we expect consumers to continue to be drawn from the center store to prepared foods as education about the benefits of fresh foods and the availability of easy to prepare and grab-and-go options increases. Consumers want convenience, but they also want fresh.” Boulder Organic! soups are available nationally in select natural foods and grocery stores. The average retail price is $6.49 for a 24-ounce container.
