INDIANAPOLIS — Marsh Supermarkets here said it has hired Mary Snell as director of nutrition and wellness marketing, and has also promoted Melinda Hustmyer to sales and promotion marketing manager.

Snell's role will include serving as a resource for both customers and employees on food- and nutrition-related topics with emphasis on food choice education. She will report to John Kelly, senior vice president of marketing. She previously held a teaching position at Ball State University, and has 25 years of experience in diet and nutrition education, Marsh said.

"Mary will share her years of knowledge and expertise in healthful eating, diet and exercise," said Kelly in a prepared statement. "We have a strong commitment to family nutrition, and we continue to evolve with our customers needs and nutrition goals."

Hustmyer will be responsible for overseeing all consumer touch points such as social media, online resources, direct mail, customer shopping insights, market research insights and in-store and print media. She will also spearhead renewed emphasis on customer loyalty marketing.

Joe Kelley, chairman, president and chief executive officer at Marsh, said, "With our renewed focus on our major marketing and customer loyalty initiatives, this new position is imperative to Marsh's success, in regards to being relevant and responsive to our customers' daily needs."

Hustmyer joined Marsh in 2008 as a co-manager trainee and joined the corporate staff as corporate sales coordinator in October, 2009.
