McCann’s Irish Oatmeal has added three new product lines to its Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal portfolio: McCann’s Traditional Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal Gluten-Free; Non-GMO Certified McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal; and McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats Single Serve Microwavable Cups.

“The expansion of McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal product portfolio is our response to the evolving food preferences and needs of consumers,” says Tom Perlstein, director-branded marketing at Bay Valley Foods, LLC (a TreeHouse Foods company). “While awareness and demand continue to grow for options like non-GMO or gluten-free foods, there aren’t many of these selections available for steel cut oatmeal.”

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal’s Gluten-Free option is available in the 28-ounce McCann’s Traditional Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal Tin and McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal (both the 24-ounce canister and 16-ounce box). McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal has the same whole grain goodness as its classic steel cut oatmeal option but cooks in just five minutes.

The demand for non-GMO products continues to rise. McCann’s Irish Oatmeal has earned its first non-GMO Certification from the Non-GMO Project for three of its core products—Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 28-ounce tin, Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 24-ounce canister and Quick Cooking Rolled Oats in the 16-ounce box. McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal is produced using a number of best practices that not only supported its efforts to obtain Non-GMO Project verification, but also instill consumer confidence in its products, say company officials. There is minimal processing, nothing artificial and it is made from 100 percent whole grain Irish oats.
