QUINCY, Mass. -- Ahold USA here will be honored by the Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) for its ongoing, innovative consumer health initiatives created to encourage Americans to eat more fruits and vegetables. The National Excellence Award was accepted by Andrea Astrachan, consumer advisor for Stop & Shop Supermarkets, on March 17 in San Francisco, Calif., where the national launch of "Fruits and Veggies - More Matters" campaign took place. "Fruits and Veggies - More Matters" replaces PBH's “5 A Day‘ campaign. Recognized for its commitment to encouraging children to eat more fruits and vegetables through the "Kids Corner" initiative and an educational tour store program, Ahold is one of many retailers who have signed on to participate in the "Fruit and Veggies - More Matters" initiative.
