QUINCY, Mass. — Ahold USA here, the U.S. operating unit of Royal Ahold, has selected a broad suite of Oracle Retail applications to help accelerate profitable growth and strengthen the company’s foundation for the future in the United States, Oracle, Redwood Shores, Calif, announced last week. The applications are designed to support the retailer’s value repositioning program and help improve the shopping experience for customers across more than 700 supermarket locations in the United States including its Stop & Shop, Giant-Carlisle and Giant-Landover chains. The Oracle Retail applications selected by Ahold USA will support Ahold’s strategic initiatives across a range of areas including merchandising, supply chain, store operations, planning and analysis. “Investing in world-class systems to support our long-term growth strategy is a critical next step in our development,” said Dave McNally, Ahold’s global chief information officer and CIO of Ahold USA, in a statement.
