AURORA, Colo. -- An Albertson's store here has sharpened its competitive edge by accepting coupons from other supermarkets.

"Now You Don't Have to Shop All Over Town," read an ad in the Denver Post. "Albertson's Now Accepts all other Supermarket & Drug Store Coupons."

The ad said the retailer will honor coupons at face value "on any item we sell in our store." Printed at the bottom was, "Offer Subject to Change." The program kicked off at the end of last month. Officials at the company's headquarters in Boise, Idaho, were unavailable for comment.

It's unclear how many divisions are offering the program. Store managers at several stores in the company's northern California division told SN the program is being offered, while managers at stores in the Utah division said it is not.
