Delhaize Group Forms New Charitable Fund

Delaize Group yesterday said it had formed a new charitable fund, called the Delhaize Group Fund, to provide financing for “charitable initiatives stimulating contacts and promoting integration among persons of different generations, of various cultures, with diverse social and economic backgrounds in a neighborhood or district.”

BRUSSELS — Delaize Group here yesterday said it had formed a new charitable fund, called the Delhaize Group Fund, to provide financing for “charitable initiatives stimulating contacts and promoting integration among persons of different generations, of various cultures, with diverse social and economic backgrounds in a neighborhood or district.” The fund will be launched with 150,000 euros (about $236,500) and will focus initially on the Belgian market. Plans call for the fund to expand to other markets where the company does business in the future.
