FRIESON NAMED DIVISIONAL SENIOR VP, WAL-MART
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Don Frieson, a veteran operations and logistics executive, has been promoted to senior vice president in charge of Wal-Mart operations in its 14-state Central Division. Frieson, 48, had been serving as the company's vice president and regional manager in Maryland. Prior to that he was a regional vice president of logistics. In his new position, based in Arkansas, Frieson will have responsibility for more than 600 Wal-Mart stores in Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa and Arkansas. He joined Wal-Mart in 1999 as a district manager for the company's private truck fleet. Prior to joining Wal-Mart, Frieson worked with Schneider National Carriers.
IGA NAMES REYES TO NEW MARKETING POSITION
CHICAGO — IGA here said it has named Princess Reyes to the new position of marketing specialist, with responsibilities for enhancing the development and execution of various IGA marketing programs and for creating collaborative relationships with IGA retailers, wholesalers and manufacturing partners. She formerly worked as an account executive at ARS Advertising, Hoffman Estates, Ill., and as promotions manager for Weigel Broadcasting Co., Chicago. Reyes will report to Jim Walz, senior director of branding and business development.
