Kroger Closes 20 Little Clinics

Kroger reportedly closed 20 Little Clinic locations this week, according to media reports.

CINCINNATI — Kroger, based here, reportedly closed 20 Little Clinic locations this week, according to media reports.

The Tennessean online news service reported that clinics were shut down in Franklin, Tenn.; Houston; Toledo, Ohio; Richmond, Va. and Detroit. Two storefront clinics also closed in Columbus, Ohio and in Phoenix, the report said.

Earlier this year, Kroger invested in its remaining stake in the Brentwood, Tenn.-based retail clinic, which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the grocery chain.

According to a Kroger spokesperson, the clinics were closed due to poor financial performance. “We want to strengthen the business model and the revisit expansion, Mehan Glynn, a Kroger spokeswoman told the The Tennessean.
