Kroger Donates $1.5 Million to USO

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. here said it has raised $1.5 million to support the work of the USO in lifting the spirits of America's armed forces and their families.

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. here said it has raised $1.5 million to support the work of the USO in lifting the spirits of America's armed forces and their families.

The money was raised through customer and associate donations and contributions from two suppliers in support of "Honoring Our Heroes," the chain's campaign to show appreciation for men and women in uniform.

In addition to money raised from donations and special activities at store level, Procter & Gamble and Anheuser Busch also participated, with, each contributing $250,000 in conjunction with special sales programs at Kroger stores.
