CINCINNATI — In a three-store test in the Cincinnati region, Kroger Co. here is looking at a redesigned health and beauty care department, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Friday. The company may roll out the design chainwide, the newspaper said. “This is a pilot project. It’s all about convenience,” Kroger spokeswoman Meghan Glynn was quoted as saying. Women shoppers “have told us that they are keenly interested in health and beauty products. We are responding by bringing a new look and a new feel to the department.” To attract women, as well as Baby Boomers in general, the design incorporates wider aisles, wood and tile floor coverings, mirrors, lighter colors and improved lighting.
