Publix Leads Customer Satisfaction Index

Publix Super Markets, Lakeland, Fla., achieved the highest score, 82 out of 100, in the supermarket category in a survey of customer satisfaction with goods and services in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index here.

ANN ARBOR, Mich.— Publix Super Markets, Lakeland, Fla., achieved the highest score, 82 out of 100, in the supermarket category in a survey of customer satisfaction with goods and services in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index here.

It is the 15th straight year Publix has led the category. Safeway increased it score 4% to 75, its highest score since 2002. Overall, supermarkets are unchanged with an ACSI score of 76 even though food prices remain high, said ACSI.
