LAKELAND, Fla. — For the sixth consecutive year, Publix Super Markets has been cited as one of IDG’s Computerworld top 100 workplaces for information technology professionals.
Publix rose 20 spots to No. 60 on this year’s list and was the only supermarket chain to be recognized. In addition, Publix ranks No. 37 for companies with 10,000 or more associates. This recognition is part of the weekly IT publication’s 17th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, published in the June 21 issue of Computerworld and online at www.computerworld.com.
“Once again our core strengths of associate ownership and recognizing our associates for their valued contributions have made us a great place to work,” said Publix spokeswoman Maria Brous, in a statement. “We’re humbled to know our associates believe so strongly in our company and our mission that we’ve made the list six straight years.”
The lists are based on categories such as diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
