MISSISSAUGUA, Ontario — Wal-Mart Canada here said it would extend hours in 175 stores, or nearly 60% of its locations, to meet demand created by the early Easter holiday. Easter is the No. 2 holiday for food spending and confectionary purchases and is the third-busiest shopping holiday of the year, Wal-Mart said. The March 23 date for Easter is the earliest the holiday has fallen in nearly 200 years. In most cases, the 175 stores will stay open two extra hours March 20 and March 22, Wal-Mart said, though individual store hours vary.
