NEW YORK — Whole Foods Market, Austin, Texas, is among a group of retailers who are participating in a new American Express program that allows shoppers to load discounts onto their American Express cards via Twitter.
American Express card members use the service by first syncing their eligible card with Twitter at sync.americanexpress.com/twitter, and then tweeting special “offer hashtags” sent by American Express or participating brands; the savings are then loaded to their synced cards. When they purchase the promoted product using their card, the discount is recorded on their statement.
Besides Whole Foods, other participating companies include 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Best Buy, Century 21 Department Store, The Cheesecake Factory, Dell, FedEx Office, FTD, Gulf, H&M, McDonald’s, Seamless.com, Sports Authority, Ticketmaster, Virgin America, and Zappos.com.
