NEW YORK — Whole Foods Market’s first store in Brooklyn will include an outpost of local ramen shop Yuji Ramen.

A Manhattan Whole Foods currently hosts a pop-up location of Yuji Ramen, which the retailer announced would become a permanent collaboration due to customer feedback.

“Yuji Ramen at Bowery has become a real destination beyond our regular grocery customers, and we’re looking forward to bringing that same enthusiasm to our first location in Brooklyn,” Elly Truesdell, local forager for Whole Foods Market’s Northeast Region, said in a press release.

The ramen shop is known for its mazeman, or brothless ramen, and other updated takes on the traditional dish.

“Working with Whole Foods Market, and partnering with their butchers and fishmongers, has created opportunities for us to develop unique seasonal menu offerings for our guests, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in Brooklyn,” said Yuji Haraguchi.

Haraguchi frequently hosts sold-out $80 tasting dinners at the Manhattan Whole Foods. The retailer plans to continue these events.
