Winn-Dixie Stores has launched a program tied to the economic-stimulus tax rebate checks that targets specific products.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here has launched a program tied to the economic-stimulus tax rebate checks that targets specific products. Through the “Stretch Your Check” program, the chain will feature a specially marked item or offer each week, beginning with a $5-off coupon in its May 14 circular. It will also cash the checks for customers. “We are committed to helping our customers get the most value for their dollar,” said Peter Lynch, Winn-Dixie’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, in a prepared statement. “‘Stretch Your Check’ was designed to enhance the shopping experience for all consumers, whether or not they receive an economic stimulus check,” he said.
