JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here said Tuesday it has opened its second SaveRite warehouse store in a remodeled unit on the city's west side.

The store, patterned after the SaveRite the chain opened in January 2009, features everyday low prices plus monthly locked-in specials and special reduced price items.

"In moving forward with this design concept, we spent a great deal of time reviewing our customers' shopping preferences and how the SaveRite concept was fulfilling customer needs," said Dan Portnoy, chief merchandising and marketing officer. "We were able to aggressively cut costs and lower prices by focusing only on those items and services that are most important to our customers."

The 47,000-square-foot store includes a full-service seafood department, enhanced produce and meat departments, an in-store pharmacy, newly designed warehouse-style shopping carts and popular staples available for purchase by the case.
