SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion here is introducing a new line of employee uniforms to its transportation and maintenance personnel this week for all five of its supermarket chains, including Food Lion, Bloom, Harvey's, Reid's and Bottom Dollar Foods.
The Wolverine Industrial Workwear Uniform, from OOBE, Greenville, S.C., includes various shirt and pant styles in addition to rain jackets and heavyweight jackets, the latter being new elements that Food Lion has incorporated into its uniform program. All apparel pieces feature Food Lion branding.
OOBE has also launched an online ordering system that allows individual employees to place an order for uniforms. The system allows employees to customize their order, choosing the name they would like embroidered or printed on their shirts and patches they would like sewn on.
The vendor "listened to our employee's concerns about their previous uniforms and made adjustments to help ensure satisfaction, then they took the time to really understand our corporate culture and technology infrastructure to create an online ordering system that makes ordering, tracking and reporting exceedingly easy," said Brad Wirth, Food Lion's standard practice manager, in a statement.
OOBE also designs and produces uniforms for front-of-store personnel at all five Food Lion supermarket chains.
