Wegmans Introduces Vegetable Grilling Trays

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets has introduced new vegetable grilling trays in its produce departments for grilling season.

Each tray has about a pound of cleaned and cut vegetables, which can be taken home and tossed with oil and seasonings. The trays come in three vegetable blends: classic peppers and onions for use with fajitas or grilled sausages; asparagus with mushrooms, red peppers and sweet white onions; and a yam blend with diced yams, sweet yellow onions and red peppers.

The trays were created to make grilling healthy easier for its customers, and retail for $4.99, wrote Marry Ellen Burris in her column on wegmans.com.

The retailer has also brought back its Kabob Kit: skewer-ready squash, zucchini, assorted peppers, red onions and baby bella mushrooms.
