Aldi debuts new ad campaign
‘#ILikeAldi’ spots highlight private label; chef Carla Hall series debuts
Aldi this month has debuted a new series of television commercials that use humor to highlight price advantages for its private label grocery staples. The “I Like Aldi” campaign is a series of ads whose performers say they “like" Aldi’s private brand products and their national-brand counterparts, but “love” Aldi’s price for them. The ads picture but don’t name the items and include a retail price for both items based on average supermarket prices, prorated for package size differences where necessary.
Aldi’s ad agency is McCann Detroit.
Also Monday, Aldi announced a partnership with television chef Carla Hall, a co-host of ABC's "The Chew" and former "Top Chef" contestant. Hall is sharing recipes, videos and tips for home chefs at Aldi's website.
