Strauss Free-Raised American Grass-Fed Beef Increases Distribution

2 Min Read

Strauss Brands and Publix Supermarkets has partnered to offer customers Strauss Free Raised grass fed and finished beef exclusively at over 1,000 Publix stores throughout Florida and the southeast. Strauss Free Raised grass fed beef is born and raised in the USA and is sourced exclusively from a network of independent family farmers. Free Raised producers raise and finish their heritage bred, free-roaming cattle on a 100% grass and forage diet. Cattle never receive grains, are always free to roam and are never administered growth hormones or antibiotics, say company officials. The company notes that independent research has shown that grass fed beef is high in CLA’s, Omega 3s and Vitamin E, while low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) may help reduce body fat deposits and improve immune function. Omega 3’s, Vitamin E and low amounts of statured fat are all recommended as part of a heart-healthy diet. Strauss Free Raised farmers raise their cattle according to Strauss’ proprietary Free Raised protocols. Evans Hooks, Swainsboro, Ga., has been an approved supplier for several years. Evans is the 3rd generation to operate his family’s 100 year-old ranch. He believes in the grass-fed methodology because of the health benefits it provides for his cattle, the land and consumers. "We raise our cattle mother nature’s way," says Hooks. "By allowing our cattle the extra time in the pasture to truly ‘finish’, we can provide customers with beef that tastes great, yet still provides all the nutritional and environmental benefits associated with an all-forage diet." Randy Strauss, CEO and 3rd-generation co-owner of Strauss Brands, says, "We wanted to create something very special for our customers. Our family’s passion is to not only provide the most humanely raised meats – but also the healthiest and best tasting, too." Free Raised grass fed beef can be found in the GreenWise section of the fresh meat case exclusively at Publix stores throughout the southeast.
