Aldi opens three stores on the East Coast
Rapidly expanding grocer launches in Pennsylvania and New York
August 30, 2024
Aldi opened three new stores on Thursday—two in Pennsylvania and one in New York.
The Pennsylvania stores are located in Waynseboro at 1517 East Main St. and Harmony at 236 Perry Highway.
The New York store is located in the Bronx borough of New York City at 4720 Third Ave.
All three locations operate from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., the German discount grocer said.
Aldi has been opening new stores on an almost weekly basis since the beginning of the year, with the goal of opening 800 new U.S. locations by the end of 2025.
Aldi also made headlines on Thursday as a leader for its sustainability and human rights practices for sourcing tuna. It’s the third year in a row that Greenpeace USA has named them the top grocer in its report “The High Cost of Cheap Tuna 2024.”
