Although frozen food stores have existed in France for years, New York’s Babeth’s Feast marks the first American take on the concept.
The retailer offers everything from pastries to main meals to herbs — all of it frozen — and the high-quality products have piqued local customers’ interest.
“But I was very surprised, in a good way, of the length of time that customers spend in the store when they’re shopping for the first time. And [they] are really interested in finding out about the product and navigating the store,” said founder Elisabeth de Kergorlay.
