Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is set to open four new locations next Thursday in four different states, as the extreme-value retailer’s rapid strategy on new unit growth continues.
Emeryville, California-based Grocery Outlet said the new stores will be located at 575 Morgantown Rd. in Uniontown, Pennsylvania; 3174 Route 9 South in Rio Grande, New Jersey; 11120 Reisterstown Rd. in Owing Mills, Maryland; and 663 Edith Ave. in Corning, California.
Grocery Outlet stores are owned and run by independent retailers based in the communities they serve and add new jobs to their communities. The Pennsylvania location will bring 30 new jobs to the area, while the Maryland store will bring 28. Both the New Jersey and California stores will bring 35 new jobs to each area.
“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Corning community and provide some relief with big savings on quality groceries,” said independent operators Steve and Dawn Tansill in a statement. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to the local community.”
Last month, Grocery Outlet reported its third-quarter fiscal 2023 results, which included the opening of eight new stores. The chain ended the quarter with 455 stores in eight states.
Grocery Outlet’s third-quarter net sales topped $1 billion, and the value-focused retailer remains bullish on having its future store count in the thousands.
“Our white space remains huge, with the potential to operate over 4,000 stores across the U.S.,” Grocery Outlet CEO RJ Sheedy said during the retailer’s third-quarter earnings call with analysts.
