H-E-B on Wednesday opened a 106,000-square-foot supermarket in Manvel, Texas, about 25 miles south of Houston.

The grocer said it is its first store south of Houston to include a True Texas BBQ restaurant.

The Manvel location also includes a wide range of Texas-made products, a Healthy Living department with nearly 100 bulk bins, juices and guacamole prepared in store, fresh sushi and seafood, meat cut in-store, a scratch bakery, a drive-thru pharmacy, fuel station and more.

“My team and I look forward to providing our neighbors with convenient, quality shopping experiences and solutions,” Malcolm Donald MacKenzie III, H-E-B Manvel’s store leader, said in a statement. “This community is undergoing tremendous growth, and it’s rewarding to support it.”

Like other H-E-B locations, the Manvel store also offers curbside pickup and home delivery, as well as an extensive selection of prepared meals.

The True Texas BBQ restaurant, which has locations at many H-E-B stores around the state, serves slow-smoked meats, prepared in-house over Texas oak wood, along with side dishes like brisket beans, creamed corn, potato salad and more.

H-E-B earlier this month debuted a revamped and expanded store in Burnet, about 50 miles northwest of Austin. The store, which has been in operation since 1976, underwent a year-long renovation.

The grocer this month also opened a 117,000-square-foot supermarket in Allen, Texas, part of its ongoing expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

H-E-B, the largest private employer in Texas, operates more than 420 grocery stores in the state.
