Rapidly growing natural and organic foods retailer Sprouts Farmers Market will open its second San Jose location on Wednesday, August 1, at the Almaden Expressway. Sprouts, which recently merged with Sunflower Farmers Market, will open the Branham store under the Sunflower name at first, as the merger took place after the signage was created and permits were obtained. By the end of the year, the store will be re-branded under the Sprouts name; the fresh produce, natural meats, myriad bulk offerings and weekly savings that customers of both markets expect will remain consistent. “We’re very excited about this new San Jose store,” says Doug Sanders, president of Sprouts Farmers Market. “Whether under the Sunflower name or the Sprouts name, shoppers can rest assured that from day one, they can expect to find affordable all-natural, organic and great-tasting groceries; an easy, efficient shopping experience; and friendly service.” The new San Jose market will feature fresh, local produce; all-natural meats and seafood; a large bulk selection; and natural living health and wellness products – all at the lowest possible prices. Customers will also find fresh bakery fare and ready-to-go deli items as well as a large selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Scheduled grand opening events: Wednesday, August 1

  • Official ribbon cutting at 7am;

  • grocery goodie bags for the first 200 paying customers; and

  • samples and demos all day long

Saturday, August 4

  • The first 1,000 customers to make a purchase will receive a coupon book for five free sandwiches ($3.99 value, extras at customer cost, tax customer responsibility where applicable).
