Just 854 days after opening its doors for the first time, the Amazon Fresh in Norridge, Illinois, hosted a grand reopening Thursday, inviting shoppers back into a grocery store that is now brighter, less in-your-face about its technology, and with a wider product selection that is more focused on value.

The store refresh is the 34th completed by the retail giant since it began updating its Amazon Fresh banner about 14 months ago.

Like the others before it, the reimagined Norridge Amazon Fresh store is designed to offer about 1,500 additional national and private-label products in an environment that is warmer and more inviting than the original version.
