1 Min Read

Weis Markets held a Grand Opening for a 63,000-square-foot replacement superstore in West Lawn, PA (Berks County) on Sunday June 5.

The new store, which is located 112 Wyomissing Boulevard, features Weis Markets' newest store design, which offers expansive perishable departments and a center store with increased variety and selection.  The store also has a pharmacy and gas station.

"Our Grand Opening marks the launch of our newest store design" said Weis Markets President and CEO David J. Hepfinger.  "It offers a tremendous range of options and improved convenience.  We've also worked to reduce our store's overall impact on the environment.  Later this summer, we will open two additional stores with this new design."

This store utilizes advanced refrigeration and climate control technologies designed to lessen its impact on the environment and global warming.  These technologies will reduce the store's refrigerant charge (usage) by 50% compared to a conventional supermarket.  It will also feature a number of energy reducing technologies, including: solar/thermal rated windows and reflective roofs and skylights for natural lighting.
