Walmart Canada plans to hold a “Vax-a-thon” event to help more Canadians get vaccinated against COVID-19, as the highly contagious Delta variant spreads rapidly worldwide.

Also, next year, Walmart Canada plans to open a 223,000-square-foot distribution center for fresh and frozen food in Moncton, New Brunswick. Mississauga, Ontario-based Walmart Canada broke ground on the new facility — its first Atlantic Canada DC — in a ceremony Thursday at the construction site. 

Kroger joined with employee training firm Axonify to launch Fresh Start, a new personalized training program to support greater associate engagement and retention. Also in Kroger news, through early next year, The Kroger Co. plans to roll out new deli, meal and center-store items from new food vendors selected by its Go Fresh & Local Supplier Accelerator business incubator.
