CULVER CITY, Calif. — A penguin by the name of Cody Maverick is out to win the Penguin World Surfing Championship in “Surf's Up” from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The movie will ride into homes on Blu-ray Disc and PlayStation Portable on Oct. 9. “Surf's Up” will be supported by a TV, print, radio and online advertising campaign, along with a number of promotions with national partners including Carl Buddig lunchmeat, On-Cor Frozen Foods, Langers Juice, Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants, Chuck E. Cheese's, and SeaWorld.

CINCINNATI — Puffs Plus has a new secret ingredient: empathy. Procter & Gamble partnered with scent expert Dr. Alan Hirsch to study the scent of Vicks vapor and found that users experienced empathy and nostalgia feelings, the company said, that are important for parents with sick kids. As a result, this fall P&G will launch Puffs Plus with the scent of Vicks. Television marketing support and a cross-promotion with Vicks that will include bottle topper coupons will support the new product.
