Buehler’s adds online grocery pickup

New service debuts with enhanced e-commerce site

Buehler’s Fresh Foods has launched a new online shopping website and grocery pickup service.

The Ohio supermarket chain said yesterday customers now can order groceries online for curbside pickup the same day at its Wooster Milltown, Medina River Styx, Canton and Wadsworth stores. The Medina, Canton and Wadsworth stores also offer online grocery delivery service within a 15-mile radius.

Trained personal shoppers pick and pack each order. At checkout, customers select delivery or pickup to receive their order. Same-day orders must be placed at least three hours in advance.

The new online shopping service and website, powered by Rochester, N.Y.-based e-grocery specialist Freshop, brings many features requested by shoppers, according to Wooster, Ohio-based Buehler’s.

For example, customers can save favorite items for future purchases and create shopping lists to place repeat orders more easily. They also can shop from a weekly online ad by adding items directly into their virtual cart, get coupons and download the new Buehler’s mobile app (iOS or Android versions).

To support the launch of the new online service, Buehler’s has reduced the service fee per order from $4.95 to $1.95 and, for new users, is waiving the fee for the first three orders with the promotional code “SVETIME.”

“Buehler’s has always been known for top-notch customer service and the finest quality, best tasting foods,” Dan Shanahan, president and chief operating officer of Buehler’s, said in a statement. “Customers appreciate the ease of having an entire virtual grocery at their fingertips and trust our personal shoppers to hand-select their order. We are excited to push our online shopping services to the next level.”

Buehler’s operates 13 supermarkets in Wooster (two locations), Orrville, Wadsworth, Medina (two locations), Ashland, New Philadelphia, Dover, Canton, Coshocton, Portage Lakes and Massillon, Ohio.
