Getir, the pioneer in ultrafast grocery delivery, has appointed Osman Yilmaz as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company’s operations in nine countries across three continents, effective March 1, 2023. Yilmaz, who has more than 16 years of experience working at leading Turkish financial and technology institutions, will be responsible for building Getir's global financial strategy and will lead its financial operations.
Launched in Turkey as the first company in the world to deliver groceries within minutes, Getir is making thisstrategic appointment to further advance Getir’s position in the ultrafast grocery delivery space, a sector that has experienced rapid international growth in the past few years.
Yilmaz brings nearly two decades of know-how and experience in the fields of finance, financial technologies, operations, and risk management to this new role, where he will lead Getir's global finance strategy and finance operation.

Prior to joining Getir, Yilmaz had been the CFO of Turkcell, a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listed company, where he played a key role in the company's transformation and growth in the field of financial technologies since 2018. Starting his career at İş Bankası, he also held leadership roles in different areas of finance at TEB and HSBC, respectively.
Yilmaz holds a doctorate in mathematical finance as well as a master's degree in financial engineering from Boğaziçi University. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and management jointly from the London School Economics and Istanbul Bilgi University.
