KeHE expands distribution with Publix
Southeastern grocery chain boosts assortment of natural, specialty items

KeHE Distributors is broadening distribution of natural and specialty products with Publix Super Markets.
Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed. The expansion tap into KeHE’s wider product portfolio to offer Publix a bigger range of offerings, namely in such categories as vitamins, dietary supplements and body care, the Naperville, Ill.-based wholesaler said yesterday. KeHE noted that its analytics and dedicated support will help keep Publix updated on “what’s next” in consumer trends and demand so the grocer can better serve customers with KeHE’s assortment.
One of the nation’s largest supermarket chains, Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix operates 1,296 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
“With a rewarding and longstanding partnership with Publix, we are delighted to increase KeHE’s distribution of natural and specialty items for Publix,” Lisa Burke, vice president of sales for Publix at KeHE. “This enhanced partnership will allow us to better serve Publix and its customers with innovation and an expanded assortment.”
An employee-owned, B Corp-certified company, KeHE supplies natural, organic, fresh and specialty food, groceries and other products to more than 30,000 natural food stores, supermarket chains, independent grocery stores, online retailers, retail pharmacies, convenience stores, foodservice providers and specialty retailers across North America.
In December, KeHE opened its 17th distribution center, a 500,000-square-foot facility in Goodyear, Ariz. The launch of the new DC, announced in October, followed the openings of a 377,000-square-foot DC in West Ellettsville, Ind., in November 2020 and a 550,000-square-foot DC in North East, Md., in October 2020.
KeHE also operates DCs in Romeoville, Ill.; Breinigsville, Pa.; Douglasville, Ga.; Elkton and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Aurora, Colo.; Dallas and Flower Mound, Texas; Chino and Stockton, Calif.; and Portland, Ore., as well as three DCs in Canada (Mississauga, Ontario; Calgary, Alberta; and Surrey, British Columbia).
