“Get creative with Brookshire's brand products somewhere other than our stores!” Brookshire wrote in promotional materials. “Got a cooler full of water at the baseball game? Chips and cookies at a cookout?”

One entry shows Brookshire’s purified water on the stands at a baseball game, while another features mustard and ketchup at a picnic.

All photos are posted on the Brookshire’s Facebook page for a public vote. The winning entry will get 5,000 Brookshire’s “YourPoints.” YourPoints is a loyalty program under which shoppers earn one point per dollar spent on most purchases. Points can be redeemed for discounts on groceries and fuel.

The contest ran from July 24 to Aug. 6. The winner has not been announced yet.

Brookshire’s is one of several retailers that asked shoppers to share stories and photos of how they use them. As reported, Publix Super Markets asked its Facebook friends to share which of its private labels will be brought on vacation this summer. Among the responses: Publix coffee and candies are off to Poland; sweet tea is visiting Peru; and crackers and chunk cheese are headed to Virginia.

Meanwhile, Hannaford Bros., Scarborough, Maine, asked shoppers to post pictures of its Hannaford-branded reusable shopping bag when it’s brought on vacation. One photo shows it laying on a patio table in Mexico.
