Chicago North Shore Grocer Honored

OMAHA, Neb. — The Grand Food Center, a grocer with stores in Winnetka and Glencoe, Ill., was recently presented with Affiliated Foods Midwest’s Pinnacle Achievement Award at its fall food show here.
The award recognizes the North Shore chain’s growth and performance throughout 2011-2012.
“The Grand Food Center reached new heights by developing and enhancing its services and stores,” said Martin W. Arter, Affiliated Foods Midwest president and chief executive officer.
Affiliated Foods Midwest is a member-owned cooperative that services independent grocers throughout several Midwest states. The cooperative is part of the Topco Cooperative, the second-largest grocery procurer in the U.S.
