Giant Eagle finds a new headquarters

Giant Eagle officially has a new headquarters, this one in Cranberry Township, Pa., about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The 100,000-square-foot building comes with several amenities for employees, including an on-site gym and cafeteria. There also are walking and jogging trails, and the Cranberry Woods Business Park, where the Giant Eagle headquarters is located, is located just off I-79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike for an easier commute.

Giant Eagle corporate-level employees will begin work at the Cranberry Township headquarters in the spring, the company said in a statement, and will operate in a hybrid model. Specific days will be spent in the office, with other days spent in remote environments including stores and distribution centers.

Giant Eagle had been searching for a new headquarters since at least October. In 2020 — months into the COVID-19 pandemic — the grocer chose not to renew its lease at a building in O’Hara, Pa., that previously served as its corporate center.

“We believe that in-person collaboration is vital to grow our business and forge meaningful connections with our customers and each other,” said Giant Eagle CEO Bill Artman. “Our new headquarters will provide a variety of working and meeting spaces that will foster teamwork and creativity to help us continue to think like our customers, anticipating their needs and delivering solutions to make their lives easier.”
